ORPE Technologiya has retrofitted SaM 146 engines

6 March 2018
ORPE Technologiya (a member of the holding company RT-Chemcomposite, Rostec State Corporation) has manufactured 350 sets of improved sound-absorbing structures for aircraft engines SaM 146 which are used in domestic airliners SSJ-100. The large-scale retrofit within the framework of which the Enterprise had manufactured 2180 sound-absorbing panels ensured the compliance of the existing park of these airliners with the new requirements of EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency).

During the operation of the Russian regional-mainline airliner Sukhoi Superjet 100 the necessity for retrofitting the design of sound-absorbing panels used in its engine was revealed. In the shortest possible time ORPE Technologiya in cooperation with PJSC «UEC-Saturn» carried out R&D work, tested the panels of new configuration and launched the batch production of retrofitted sound-absorbing structures of resonance type. The results achieved were highly praised by EASA and UEC-Saturn management.

«The production site established for the realization of the project is capable of meeting current and future requirements of SaM 146 manufacturers. Design and technological solutions obtained in the course of the works will find application in other aviation projects», — said A. Silkin, Director General of ORPE Technologiya.
