ORPE Technologiya participates in the creation of space complex KANOPUS-V

2 February 2018
ORPE Technologiya has manufactured the temperature control panels for KANOPUS-V No.3 and No.4 which simultaneously serve as the bodies of the space vehicles. The satellites were successfully placed into orbit from Vostochny cosmodrome on the 1st of February 2018.

The temperature control panels are provided with the coatings which make it possible to decrease the thermal load on the space vehicles. The technologies applied permit the increase of space vehicle service life.

«Our space know-how has no analogs in the world. Up to date we have already formed the stock of orders for science-intensive space products up to 2020. It comprises 600 products to the amount of 650 million rubles. All in all, 48 space vehicles with science-intensive components made at our Enterprise have already been placed into orbit», — said O. Shirina, Division Head of ORPE Technologiya named after A.G. Romashin.

The space vehicle KANOPUS-V No.1 with the temperature control panels made at ORPE Technologiya has been in the orbit since 2012. KANOPUS-V-IK was successfully placed into orbit in July 2017. The Enterprise has already manufactured and delivered to the customer the temperature control panels for space vehicles KANOPUS-V No.5 and No.6 which are to be launched at the end of 2018.

The space complex KANOPUS-V consisting of a series of space vehicles is used for the monitoring of technogenic and natural emergency situations, hydrometeorological events, specified areas of the earth surface. This information is used by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology, Agency on Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring and other agencies for making operational decisions.
