The contract provides for production and delivery of the large-sized carbon fiber components of fin torsion box and tailplane torsion box sets for the Russian MC-21 airliner. Agreement for production of composite parts was signed by ORPE “Technologiya” named after A.G.Romasin (that is a part of holding company RT-Chemcomposite) on the part of Rostec and by JSC Irkut Corporation on the part of UAC. Implementation of the project will let the State Corporation increase the share of manufactured civil products.
“The manufactured parts for empennage have successfully passed statistical and dynamic tests. Our enterprise is ready to start batch production of components for MC-21. In November 2017 ORPE “Technologiya” will start batch production of composite components for the airframe and by the end of 2018 will supply the whole set of components for the first five aircraft”, - said Sergei Abramov, industrial director of Rostec Weapons cluster.
Within the framework of cooperation in the field of airliner production, an enterprise of Rostec State Corporation developed a manufacturing technology for load bearing parts of fin torsion box and tailplane torsion box made of polymer composite materials with the wide application of automated tape laying and cutting technologies. Batch production will employ full capacity of the new equipment. As a result of the project implementation, volume of the manufactured civil products will increase by 3-5% that will have a positive effect on strategy implementation of the Weapons cluster.
Production of carbon fiber parts for the mainline aircraft of the 21st century will take place on the improved production floor with the use of advanced equipment such as unique Automated Tape Laying machine that has no parallel in Russia. The machine makes it possible to manufacture large-sized products for the advanced samples of the aviation equipment with the use of domestically produced materials.
ORPE “Technologiya” readiness for batch production of the high-technology products for new-generation aviation equipment was reaffirmed by experts of the world leader in the field of certification – Bureau Veritas. “Technologiya” became one of the first enterprises that was granted the Quality Management System Certificate in accordance with the latest international requirements of the AS/EN 9100:2016 standard for the aerospace industry.
“Signing of a contract for the start of the batch production reaffirms unique competences of our enterprise. Manufactured parts for the empennage have successfully passed statistical and dynamic tests. Now we are at the stage of batch production. That is a big success for civil aircraft industry in our country”, - said Andrei Silkin, director general of ORPE “Technologiya”.
