“The use of ultralight integral solar cell carriers weighing only about 500 g/m2 will allow for significant reduction of the spacecraft weight. This structure has no analogues throughout the world, and it is patented in Russia”, said Kirill Shubsky, Director-General of the holding company RT-Chemcomposite.
Moreover, the Aist-2D spacecraft contains temperature control panels produced by ORPE Technologiya named after A.G. Romashin, these panels at the same time being an instrument installation area. They are capable of increasing the satellite life cycle due to small weight and functions performed.
On-board systems of Aist-2D are in normal operation, the spacecraft is controllable, and there are no power supply and thermal control problems. The spacecraft has already photographed more than 14 mln. km2 of the earth surface including 4 mln. km2 of the territory of Russia. “Even today the information acquired finds practical application in solution of a number of tasks of state federal and regional consumers, e.g. EMERCOM of Russia, the Ministry of Forestry, Environmental Protection and Nature Management of Samara Region and others. The information is also of interest for domestic and foreign commercial entities”, news agencies reported.
“The Enterprise has great experience in manufacturing high-tech products for the aerospace industry. Our effective solutions are in the history of such significant projects as Venera 15 and Venera 16, the Buran orbiter, Proton and Angara. Almost every product of our Enterprise is unique and aimed at the highest results”, noted Andrei Silkin, Director-General of ORPE Technologiya.
