A New ORPE Technologiya’s magnetron plant capable of simultaneous applying of optical protective coatings on 100 standard transparencies

The application of a new plant will allow the Enterprise to broaden the range of civil products, as well as to increase the efficiency of applying coatings on the structural optics articles featuring a compound surface curvature by the magnetron sputtering method.

“The load area of the unique vacuum plant is 8 sq.m. The equipment is capable of coming to operating parameters in less than 20 minutes, applying coatings with an accuracy of not more than 1 %, and makes it possible to control optical parameters of the layers sputtered on a real-time basis”, notes Kirill Shubsky, Director-General of RT-Chemcomposite.

The application of dual magnetron sputtering systems offers an opportunity to sputter simultaneously layers of two oxides of different metals on the working surface, which allows the metal-optical coatings having novel properties to be developed. Due to a special engineering solution, the coatings are applied on both outer and inner surfaces of products. The full work cycle at a peak load lasts for only two hours.

“Putting into operation the new equipment has broadened the possibilities of the Enterprise primarily in solving the problem of increasing the volume of the civil products output. Almost all the latest advances in the vacuum sputtering equipment have been realized in the new plant. The advantages got will enable us to raise the competitive capacity in the market” says Andrei Silkin, Director-General of ORPE Technologiya.
