ORPE Technologiya and NPO Lavochkin sign the contract for civil products used in the space industry

A 250 million-ruble contract stipulates the participation of ORPE “Technologiya” named after A.G. Romashin in the international ExoMars-2020 project. The document was signed on April 10, 2017, on the eve of the World Day of Aviation and Cosmonautics.

“The space industry is one of the key trends in the development of the Holding Company’s competencies in the civil sector. In 2016 alone, the output of CFRP structures for space vehicles exceeded the level of 20 tons”, notes Kirill Shubsky, Director-General of RT-Chemcomposite.

The State Research Centre of the Russian Federation ORPE “Technologiya” named after A.G. Romashin is to produce composite components for the modular landing unit and a surface platform to deliver Mars rover to the surface of Mars in 2020. Under the terms of the contract, the Enterprise is to produce four sets of structures: the first one is meant for the validation through elaboration of technologies, the further two, for the dynamic and thermal testing. The flight set is to be delivered to the Customer in 2018. TECHNOLOGIYA is to manufacture the temperature-control panels to provide the thermal operating conditions required for the equipment.

“This year, the orders received by our Enterprise for the space industry amount to 630 million rubles. We plan to manufacture more than 300 articles meant for the space vehicle complete sets”, says Andrei Silkin, Director-General of ORPE Technologiya.
