Every visitor of the exhibition could test the strength of the polycarbonate aircraft glazing with the hammer blow. The product withstood the tests successfully which is indicative of the development uniqueness. Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade, placed a particular emphasis on the successful presentation of ORPE Technologiya glazing. “It is the main thing that the presentation is illustrative and demonstrative,” said the Minister.
The new glazing based on monolithic polycarbonate is a unique product of ORPE Technologiya. Its impact resistance is 100 times higher than that of the conventional silicate glass and 10 times higher than the impact resistance of the organic glass. The unique characteristics of the glazing make possible the use of this product not only in aviation but also in other branches of industry.
The manufacture of the new glazing has become possible owing to the cooperation with the leading enterprise SafPlast (Republic of Tatarstan), the supplier of monolithic polycarbonate. “The cooperation with the Russian Enterprise allows us not only to solve the problem of the import substitution but also to find the up-and-coming partners. In this case the cooperation of the two leading regions – Republic of Tatarstan and Kaluga Region- has made it possible to move to a new level of development of the structural optics production,” said A. Silkin, Director General of ORPE Technologiya.
