Glazing products with unique properties for the high speed rail transport were presented to the participants of EXPO, which was held within the framework of the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM-2016. Among these products are heterogeneous compositions from silicate and polycarbonate glass featuring improved impact resistance. Such products can stand up to an impact of a projectile weighing one kilo and flying with a speed of 500 km/h without a reach-through breakdown. The impact resistance is not achieved due to the product thickening, which results in the significant weight increase, but due to the glass reinforcement using a special technology and gluing of heterogeneous materials. The unique products, which still do not have analogues in Russia, may become in the long term a leader at the high speed rail transport glazing market owing to their properties, because they will permit the operators to solve the problems related to the reliability and safety of the rolling-stock as well as to the frequency of its service maintenance.
“The railway glazing market, including the foreign one, is one of the key markets for our Enterprise. Being per se a Russian Centre for the development of compositions and technologies of silicate and organic glass structural optics, Technologiya can solve the most complicated tasks in the interests of its customers. In the nearest future, we are planning to widen both the range of products for the railway transport and the range of products with unique properties. It is this year that we are going to master the manufacture of at least 20 products for the needs of the railway industry and to enter new foreign markets next year,” Andrei Silkin, Director-General of ORPE Technologiya noted.
At present, ORPE Technologiya named after A.G. Romashin is producing more than 200 items for the railway industry. Most of them are certified for the compliance with the Technical Regulation of the Customs Union. The Business Management System of the Enterprise conforms to the international standard IRIS in the field of the development and production of glazing products for the railway transport.
