KOSMOS-2515 satellite with the parts made at ORPE Technologiya have been successfully placed into predicted orbit

25 March 2016
The spacecraft KOSMOS-2515 have been successfully placed into orbit from the cosmodrome Plesetsk on the 24th of March. The satellite body consists of high-technology elements made at ORPE Technologiya (RT-Chemcomposite Holding Company of the State Corporation Rostec).

The elements of the KOSMOS-2515 body are sandwich structures with aluminum honeycomb core and aluminum alloy skins which maintain the temperature of the instruments and units within the desired range. The spacecraft includes 13 temperature control panels. The KOSMOS-2515 is the 35th spacecraft placed into orbit with ORPE Technologiya components.

“The know-how of temperature control panels consists in the use (for the first time in Russia) of five-layer structure with bi-directional arrangement of heat transfer tubes. This technology provided the reduction in weight and at the same time adequate operation of the spacecraft systems”, said A. Silkin, Director General of ORPE Technologiya.
