As a participant of the aircraft engine PD-14 development ORPE Technologiya has confirmed its competence in the composite materials field

Russian advanced aircraft engine PD-14 the development of which had been carried out in close cooperation with the leading Russian enterprises designers and engineers was successfully flight-tested in November 2015. Engine nacelle bucket-type reverser, core engine panels and sound-absorbing structures design and commercializing – these were the main tasks set before the technical specialists of ORPE Technologiya named after A.G. Romashin, part of the holding company RT-Chemcomposite of the Rostec State Corporation.

“The project has initially implied the innovative technologies involvement, automated processes maximization and strict quality control. It can already be said that the great cooperative labour has been a success”, ORPE Technologiya NPK Kompozit chief process engineer N. Vymorkov stated.

PD-14 is to provide the competitive advantage of the domestic long-haul airliner over its foreign version owing to its high performance. Having initially been designed for the aircraft MS-21, the engine will actually be used for the whole line of Russian civil air-craft.
