The Enterprise presented a number of reports, one of which being “Development of the thermal-resistant glass-fiber-reinforced honeycomb for the PD-14 engine” written by A. Korneichuk, V. Volkov and E. Denisova. The experience of the development of the material, which is capable to meet the rigid requirements of the aeronautical standards, has been systematized in the work.
The honeycomb developed by the specialists from Obninsk is expected to be used in the sound-absorbing panels for the PD-14 engine in the gas generator area featuring the elevated operating temperature. The materials selected and the technology developed have made it possible to develop the SSP-7-8T glass-fiber-reinforced honeycomb, which is efficient at the temperature of up to 300 0C and has a life time of at least 500 hours. One of the key components of the successful work result has become the selection of the SP-97K binder and the VS-10T high-temperature adhesive as a polymeric matrix, which enabled the required strength properties to be obtained when having the predetermined density values.
“The involvement of young scientists into the process of decision making, resulting in the production with competitive advantages, is one of the basics which has allowed the Enterprise to be for more than fifty years the competence centre for the development and production of polymer composite articles for the aerospace industry”, Director-General O.Komissar said.
As planned by the organizers, the event with more than two hundred and fifty reports will permit the young scientists to claim their scientific research, to find like-minded persons among other participants of the conference, as well as to learn how to present their scientific and practical works.
