The Government of Bashkortostan and ORPE Technologiya Signed an Agreement on Intention of Developing an Unmanned Aviation Cluster

The agreement between the government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and Obninsk Research and Production Enterprise Technologiya named after A.G. Romashin (the head organization of the holding company of the Rostec State Corporation in chemical industry) was signed on October 18, 2021in Ufa. The document secured the intentions of the parties to cooperate on realization of the innovative projects of the Republic of Bashkortostan. 

The agreement was signed by Andrei Silkin, Director General of ORPE Technologiya, and Alexander Sheldyaev, Minister of Industry, Energy and Innovations of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The parties agreed on cooperation to provide the innovative projects with high-technology science-intensive products from polymer composite, glassy and ceramic materials, low-tonnage chemicals, and realizing the retraining programs for specialists in the field of non-metallic materials production support.

“Technologiya approved itself as a reputable manufacturer of polymer composite and ceramic materials. We are interested in using them in unmanned aircraft production,” stressed head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov.– I’m sure that cooperation with such a strategic partner  as ORPE Technologiya will make it possible to achieve good results.”

The government of the Republic of Bashkortostan entered into an agreement with the representatives of the business to establish the unmanned aviation cluster in August of 2021. Head of Bashkortostan noted that it was one of the priority areas of the industry policy of the region. Unmanned aircraft are in demand for mapping, monitoring of industrial facilities and farmlands, and prevention of emergencies.

ORPE Technologiya will be involved in production of unmanned aircraft and other equipment. The Enterprise will supply advanced materials, such as honeycomb cores, polymers, adhesives, compounds, and high-technology polymer composite products: large-size, shaped, thermally and dimensionally stable, high-loaded structures and elements as well as structural optics articles.        

“Technologiya is one of Russia’s leaders in the manufacture of non-metallic products for various industries. The Enterprise annually produces 10-15 tons of polymer composite products for aerospace industry, taking one third of the Russian market of composites and being in the top five companies of the industry in the world. We are actively engaged in development of civilian projects. Bashkortostan is a progressive and reliable partner for realization of joint initiatives,” said Andrei Silkin.
