JSC ORPE Technologiya named after A. G. Romashin will provide cabin transparencies for the new generation subway trains. The contract for glazing of 90 coaches was signed with RailAlliance company for the benefit of Transmashholding which is the leading domestic developer and manufacturer of the equipment for railway and urban rail transport.

The new transparency enables to increase the cabin view by 27% as compared with previous generation trains. The cabin futuristic design is implemented through the use of multi-curved surface parts high-end manufacturing technology. The transparency elements are equipped with the electric heating system.

“One of the latest developments of Technologiya, Obninsk is the structural optics for brand new subway trains. It has the improved range of visibility, strength characteristics and the contemporary design. 90 coaches are going to be equipped with this kind of transparencies – those are 45 brand new trains intended for Moscow Metro. The supply is going to be carried out before the end of 2020.”, the Executive Director of Rostec Oleg Evtushenko claimed.

For each cabin he set of 7 silicate triplex parts is going to be used. The silicate triplex consists of 2 heat-strengthened glass pieces joint by the transparent elastic polymer film which prevents the glass splinters to disperse when the structure is damaged. This kind of manufacturing technology enables to achieve high impact resistance and to use the products intended for railway cabin glazing both for the underground and the above-ground subway lines.

The new generation subway trains exhibit the improved characteristics. They are more safe and comfortable. First new series trains have already taken the route on the Circle Line of the Moscow Metro
