Andrey Silkin, the Director General of JSC ORPE Technologiya named after A.G.Romashin, reported to Sergei Shoigu the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, about the readiness of the Obninsk research and production enterprise for serial production of components for the fifth generation fighter Su-57. The report was presented on August 5, 2020 during a meeting that took place at the National Defense Operations Center as part of a single day of acceptance of military products.

According to Andrey Silkin, JSC ORPE Technologiya produces parts and assemblies from polymer composite materials, as well as glazing products for the cockpit of the newest Su-57 fighter. The Obninsk enterprise was among the first ones to get ready for serial production and supply of products within the program.

“JSC ORPE Technologiya was the first of the enterprises included in the cooperative project which signed a contract with JSC Sukhoi for the supply of polymer composite components for the serial production of the Su-57. “By 2028, we will ensure the production of 74 sets of products,” - said Andrey Silkin.

The enterprise has developed a manufacturing technology and arranged production of a new type of aviation glazing for the Su-57 fighter made from an advanced material - monolithic polycarbonate. The created products have no analogues in the world and due to this development the enterprise received the Russian Federation Government Award in the field of science and technology.

“The team of developers had a task to increase the impact resistance of glazing for the Su-57, to improve its weight characteristics and to ensure protection of the crew from external factors. We have fulfilled the assigned tasks and this year have already launched a serial production of structural optics for the fifth generation fighter,” - the Head of the Obninsk enterprise claimed.
