The event discussed the development trends of the international composite materials market, as well as the prospects of domestic production of composites and articles made from them.
During the discussion, Andrei Silkin presented the experience of ORPE Technologiya in the field of resolving issues connected with the import substitution program and the use of new materials. He noted that the enterprise had successfully introduced domestic composites into the manufacturing of aerospace industry products, such as the nose cones for launch vehicles and the elements of the airframe for the Russian passenger aircraft MC-21.
“Unification of materials reduces the risk of becoming dependent on sanctions. At the moment, the inter-industry standard for composite materials is not just a reality, but a necessity, because it can make production cooperation more efficient and risks predictable. The experience of our enterprise confirms this. Currently, we manufacture products for the needs of the space industry using materials supplied by a developer and manufacturer that is registered in Russia. It also helps to reduce production costs", noted Andrei Silkin, Director General of ORPE Technologiya.
ORPE Technologiya holds a significant position in the Russian market of high-tech polymer composite products. The serial production volume of composite products, that are mainly intended for the aerospace industry, is about 15 tons of carbon fiber products and structures annually.
