At the year-end, ORPE Technologiya has successfully reached all capacity rates as the State Research Center. Basic and applied research was carried out under five government R&D contracts valued over 300 million rubles. Based on the research findings, the company acquired 32 new patents for inventions and registered four know-how. Besides, additional 47 inventions were claimed in the area of development of materials, structures and technologies. The achievements of the scientists and specialists of Technologiya in 2018 were recognized with the national awards Golden Idea and Priority. In addition, the project on the development of innovative aircraft transparencies based on monolithic polycarbonate and its manufacturing process was awarded with the prize of the Government of the Russian Federation.
“Increase in the scientific research activity of young people is one of the most meaningful results. In 2018, five young specialists became applicants for the Candidate of Science degree. The total amount of the company’s employees involved in the research and development of materials and technologies makes up 744 people including 13 Doctors of Science and 62 Candidates of Science as well as 63 post-graduates and applicants”, noted Aleksei Boudykin, First Deputy Director General of ORPE Technologiya while summing up the meeting.
As part of the meeting, there was also awards presentation to the company’s employees who made an invaluable contribution to the development and support of the scientific research activities. The Certificate of Honour of the Engineering Workers Guild of Russia was presented to Viktoria Masiyuk, chief of R&D laboratory sector, Aleksei Medvedev, design engineer of the Ceramics R&D Complex and Vladimir Khodarev, deputy chief of the non-standard equipment workshop. The awards were handed over by the Chairman of Kaluga Regional Branch of the Engineering Workers Guild of Russia, the Head of the Representative Office of the State Corporation Rostec in Kaluga Region Dmitry Bogatyriov who attended the event. One more employee Lyudmila Alekseeva, lead engineer of the Glass R&D Complex was presented with the Certificate of Honour of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kaluga Region at the city solemn meeting dedicated to the Science Day for a major contribution to technology development and introduction of glass-ceramic substrates for microcircuits.
