ORPE Technologiya named after A. G. Romashin has had the status of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation since 1994. The Enterprise possesses the unique test and production equipment and highly qualified personnel. ORPE Technologiya research activities results have worldwide recognition. Three research schools and 767 research engineers with 51 candidates and 10 doctors of science among them work at the Enterprise. ORPE Technologiya has the exclusive right to 449 intellectual property objects.

ORPE Technologiya is a member of the Russian Association of Research Centers “Science”. Functions of the State Research Center of the Russian Federation ORPE Technologiya named after A.G. Romashin:

  • Carrying-out of basic, exploratory and applied research, development and production work

  • Participation in the development and realization of federal target programs

  • Participation in solving problems specified in the interstate, intergovernmental or interdepartmental agreements on scientific-technical cooperation

  • Training and continuing education of scientific personnel in specified areas

  • Analysis and prediction of world trends in the development of polymer composite materials technologies and products, advanced ceramics and glass for aviation and space-rocket equipment

ORPE Technologiya takes part in the development and introduction of twelve critical technologies:

  1. Basic and critical military and industrial technologies of advanced weapons, military and special equipment;

  2. Nano-, bio-, information, cognitive technologies;

  3. High-speed transport and intelligent new transport control systems technologies;

  4. New generation space-rocket and transport equipment technologies;

  5. New and renewable energy sources technologies, including hydrogen energetics;

  6. Production and processing of structural nanomaterials;

  7. Production and processing of functional nanomaterials;

  8. Distributed and high-performance computer systems technologies;

  9. Technologies of energy-saving systems for energy transfer, distribution and usage;

  10. Technologies of atomic power engineering, nuclear fuel cycle, safe handling of radioactive wastes and spent nuclear fuel;

  11. Nanomaterials and nanodevices diagnostics technologies;

  12. Technologies of minerals exploration, prospecting and mining.

ORPE Technologiya also takes part in the realization of programs in six priority areas of scientific and technological development in the Russian Federation: security and counter-terrorism; nanosystems industry; information-telecommunication systems; advanced weapons, military and special equipment; transport and space systems; energy efficiency, energy saving, atomic power engineering.

In an effort to train highly qualified personnel, ORPE Technologiya has made agreements with Moscow Aviation Institute, D. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev. Besides, Materials Science Department Branch of Obninsk Institute for Nuclear Power Engineering which is the branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute) functions at ORPE Technologiya and trains the specialists in the field of materials science and processing of ceramic, glass and polymer composite materials. The leading specialists of the Enterprise teach the students.
